Week One Project
2024-03-23
So, my “project” for week one is actually a bit of a red-herring, I’m not starting any actual projects. Instead I’m prepping and making sure I’m ready for making future projects. So my goals for this weekend are:
- Make a list of current projects
- Write a quick summary of the project, and how far along it is.
- Make a list of any parts I know need ordering
- Get better spool holder.
So the first 3 steps are pretty self explanatory, I need to know what projects I actually have, and how far along they are before I know which ones I want to do. I do need to decide how to store this information. Part of me wants to set up a bookstack with all of the information in, it’d be a nice need way to organise it, but part of me also worries that I’m just starting another project with that one. I’ll have to decide. I also need to find/make a better spool holder for my 3D printer - my one working 3D printer that is, I have 3 others being build (more projects wheeee!). My current one was designed to mount to an ikea pegboard, but I’ve moved where the printer is, so there’s no pegboard now, I might try one of the top-mounted ones (my working printer is a bambulabs A1 mini). I explicitly don’t want to start designing a new one - that’s just adding more projects, but if not good ones are available, I might just settle on one that’s “good enough” and add “make good spool holder” to the list of projects. I have titled this all “Project 00” kind of like session 0 in D&D, it’s a prep thing - and by giving myself a title hopefully it spurs me more into action.
